Magnesium Anodes

Pre-Packaged High Potential magnesium anodes

A high potential (Hi-Po) magnesium anode is a sacrificial anode designed to provide a higher driving voltage for cathodic protection compared to standard magnesium anodes. They are made from high-purity magnesium alloys and are ideal for protecting buried steel structures like pipelines and tanks in higher resistivity soil

Aluminum Heater Treater Anodes

The typical “heater treater” anode is a 3″ diameter cast anode with a length of either 30 or 60 inches. A 3/4″ diameter all-thread rod is cast into the center of the anode and extends outside the anode from either one or both ends.

Redhead or Bluehead mounting assembly can be provided for the purpose of inserting the anode into a Victaulic style tank nozzle.

In this case, the Redhead (for standard 4″ SCH 40 grooved Victaulic couplings) or Bluehead (for standard 4″ SCH 80 grooved Victaulic couplings) is affixed to the aluminum anode and then inserted into the vessel via the Victaulic nozzle.
A cable must be used to electrically connect the anode to the vessel as the Redhead and Bluehead electrically isolate the anode from the vessel.

The 3.5″ Diam anode is available in both 30″ & 60″ lengths
The 3.5″x60″ anode weighs 51 lbs. which is (27%) more anode weight then the 3″x 60″ 37lb.
The 3.5″x30″ anode weighs 24 lbs. which is (25%) more anode weight ten the 3″x30″ 18lb
This allows the end user to put more anode material in the water phase giving more CP protection
It allows end user to hopefully not have as many expired anodes at end of year replacement. (Understand that when removing anodes yearly some are 40 to 100% depleted.)
This is a one-year anode system. The extra anode material will lessen the 100% depleted.
